This can have a variety of reasons:
- QuickBooks Online's servers have experienced a temporary outage, so they cannot handle the request properly. You should try again in a few minutes.
- QuickBooks Online's servers have experienced a communication issue between them. When you submit a request through their webapp or through their API, their server actually sends your request to a different server to process your request properly with their databases. Sometimes, there's a communication issue between their request server and data processing server, so the request server sends you back this generic error message. In this case, you should wait a few minutes to check if your action did go through. If it went through, then no need to retry. If it didn't go through, then you'll need to retry.
